We’ve brought Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings back to life so everyone can enjoy it.
The Mill exhibition on the ground floor of the Main Mill tells the story of this unique survivor of the Industrial Revolution, the building that changed skylines across the world forever.
You can also enjoy two tours while on site. A Behind-the-Scenes guided tour takes you on a journey around this iconic landmark of the Industrial Revolution and gives you the opportunity to dig deeper into the past, present and future of the building that changed skylines across the world forever. Behind-the-Scenes tours are available Wednesday to Sunday.
A Jubilee Tower tour offers the chance to climb to the viewing gallery at the top of the Jubilee Tower, offering fantastic views of Shrewsbury, and the surrounding countryside beyond from the eighth storey of the building. This tour is available Wednesday to Friday. It is strongly advised to book both tours in advance.

The Shop features a selection of unique and artisan gifts. The majority of the products are locally-sourced. You do not need a ticket to visit either Turned Wood Café or the Shop.

Please note that the Behind-the-Scenes Guided Tour is available Wednesday to Sunday and the Jubilee Tower Tour is available Wednesday to Friday. The Mill exhibition needs to be booked separately. Spaces are more limited on guided tours, so if you wish to have experiences on the same day, we suggest you book your guided tours first before you book your exhibition ticket. Tickets for The Mill exhibition can be purchased in person, on the day of your visit.

Did you know that the original 1797 ‘great bricks’ used were approximately one third bigger than normal? This reduced the amount of brick tax paid, a duty which was in place when the flax mill was built.
