The Mill offers an exhibition and two different guided tours, which can all be booked separately. There is also the fine Turned Wood Café and unique shop for you to visit. The site also offers a varied series of events for all to enjoy.

A separate ticket is needed to visit the Exhibition or to go on a tour, please add tickets for both to your basket.

The Mill Exhibition

This exhibition on the ground floor of the Main Mill tells the story of this unique survivor of the Industrial Revolution, the building that changed skylines across the world forever.

Fully accessible. A one to two hour visitor experience.

Exhibition is open 10am to 4pm Wednesday to Sunday, plus Mondays and Tuesdays during local school holidays.

Behind-the-Scenes Guided Tour

This guided tour takes you on a journey around this iconic landmark of the Industrial Revolution and gives you the opportunity to dig deeper into the past, present and future of the building that changed skylines across the world forever.

Behind-the-Scenes tours are available Wednesday to Sunday at 11am and last between 60 and 90 minutes.

The tour route includes access to the upper floors which are not normally available for the public to visit. Tour groups are taken to the upper floors in the lift, then the tour group descend an original staircase for guided access to the Cross Mill. However, the lift is currently out of order and it is expected to be several weeks before it is working again. This means a Behind-the-Scenes tour currently involves walking up modern stairs (up to 76 steps) to the upper floors.

Weather appropriate clothing is recommended as some of the tour is outside.

Separate tickets are needed to visit the Exhibition or go on one of the tours, please add tickets for each to your basket. Tours are limited to 12 people.

Jubilee Tower Tour

This tour offers the chance to climb to the viewing gallery at the top of the Jubilee Tower, offering fantastic views of Shrewsbury, and the surrounding countryside beyond from the eighth storey of the building. This tour is available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 2pm. It is strongly advised to book tours in advance.

The tour lasts 60 minutes. It is a full walking tour with stairs only access to the eighth floor and is suitable only for people with a good head for heights. The lift would normally take people to the fourth floor, however the lift is currently out of order and it is expected to be several weeks before it is working again. This means a Jubilee Tower tour involves walking up 76 additional steps as well as the 56 steps to the Jubilee Tower.

Weather appropriate clothing is recommended as some of the tour is outside.

Separate tickets are needed to visit the Exhibition or go on one of the tours, please add tickets for each to your basket. Tours are limited to 6 people.
