We’re bringing Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings back to life so everyone can enjoy it.
Everything is being made ready for you to visit in 2022.
There will be a new visitor experience on the ground floor of the Main Mill with an exhibition involving hands-on activities and engaging tours.
If you visit on your own, with friends or family, or as a school, coach or community group, you’ll be able to enjoy learning about this unique survivor of the Industrial Revolution.
When you’re done exploring you will be able to relax in the new café or browse the new gift shop.

Did you know that the original 1797 ‘great bricks’ used were approximately one third bigger than normal? This reduced the amount of brick tax paid, a duty which was in place when the flax mill was built.
