Future plans

A place to visit, work, learn and live

The Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings site comprises eight listed buildings; two are restored, two more are currently undergoing restoration and four others still need funding to bring them back to life.

The first two buildings to be converted were the Smithy and Stables which were completed in November 2015.

The focus of the current restoration is the Main Mill and Kiln. This part of the project was completed in 2022 when the Flaxmill Maltings opened and we started to welcome people to eat, learn, visit, work and enjoy everything this amazing place has to offer.

The story doesn’t end here. There are four more amazing buildings on site which still need funding for restoration, the Apprentice House, the Cross Mill, the Dye House and the Warehouse.

The land surrounding the buildings has outline planning consent for housing, you can read more about the plans here.
