Volunteers at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings

Get involved at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings

Get involved with Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings, the world’s first iron-framed structure – the grandparent of the modern skyscrapers.

We are looking for looking for volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to join our friendly and enthusiastic team as we expand our visitor and community offer. You can help us in our shop and exhibition, giving people a warm welcome to the site and helping with their visitor journey.  We are also looking for volunteers to lead and support our guided tour offer, showing customers around the world important site.

As we continue to expand our customer and community offer, there will be other opportunities to get involved.  You could assist in the delivery and running of events and exhibitions, contribute to publicity and promotion of the site, get involved with educational workshops, help us with administration, collections care and research.  There are even opportunities to get involved with heritage sewing and site groundskeeping.

Volunteering is not only about supporting Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings and being a part of this unique place, but also about having fun, learning something new, meeting new people and even improving your CV.  Full training is given, and you will be supported by our heritage professionals.

Please email the team by the below link and we will invite you in for a chat.  Start your volunteering now and help us to develop this world important site and great community asset. [email protected]
