Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings pleased to now be welcoming schools on self-led visits to the Mill Exhibition.
Self-Guided visits are now available for booking. The price per student includes pre-visit resources, entrance to The Mill exhibition and access to a package of activities and resources that will help bring this historic and important site to life. Included in these resources: site-wide activity trails, a box of handling objects and a self-guided activity focusing on the child labourers of the Parish Apprentice system.
The fee is £5.00 per child and includes a package of self-guided resources for the education of your class. Please fill out the below form to make an enquiry for your visit.

Calling all teachers leading history for primary schools in Shrewsbury and Shropshire. Book your place today for the opportunity to visit this internationally significant site and discover the new learning offer from Engagement Officer, Laura Matthews. In addition Martin Phillips, from Historic England, will provide continuous professional development training in key strategies that you can use to unpick the history of the area around any school, using historical maps, directories, aerial photos and census records. Light lunch and refreshments are included.”
